Texas Volunteers & Interns
Richard earned a BBA from Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University. After serving in the United States Navy, he has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years, with companies such as AFLAC, Humana, Travelers, CNA, Reliance, Northbrook, and Hanover. Richard remains active in the insurance Industry. He is certified in Homebuyer Education, Financial Literacy, Predatory Lending, Credit Counseling for Maximum Results and Foreclosure Prevention. Richard formerly was the Director of Homeownership for BCL. He has since retired and now volunteers his time and participates in various homeownership center outreach activities, teaches homebuyer Education in the Dallas Metroplex, and counseling families in need of home retention options.
Oscar is a licensed Real Estate Agent in Texas. He has worked in the Housing and Community Development industry for over 20 years. Mr. Saenz has a degree, from Texas A&M University at Kingsville, in Sociology and Minor in Psychology. He has worked for NeighborWorks® America as a management consultant for over 5 years with a specialization in Business and Strategic Planning and Development. Oscar volunteers with BCL and teaches homebuyer education in English and Spanish for the Austin and San Antonio area. He also acts as a Central Texas home retention counselor.
Beatrice (Bea) volunteers with BCL and teaches homebuyer education and foreclosure prevention workshops in Spanish for the Dallas area. She also assist the Dallas Homeownership Center with marketing outreach and events.
